DAY 1

Welcome to Athens!

Arrival at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. Welcome to Athens!

Athens, as timeless as its myths, welcomes you to discover its rich history and culture. Nestled beneath the majestic Acropolis, Athens has been shaped by gods and mortals alike, witnessing the rise and fall of empires blooming through the centuries and remaining glorious.

Upon your arrival in Athens, you will be met by our airport English speaking representative and you will be transferred by comfortable vehicles to your hotel.

English speaking guide will be with you and will give you the first view and a taste of the capital of Greece as well as all the useful information for your stay. Overnight in Athens on bb basis.

DAY 2

Mykines, Nafplio,

Athens pick up from your hotel. English speaking guided daily tour. Explore the archaeology and mythology of ancient Greece on this private full-day tour. You will visit the archaeological sites of Mycenae & Epidaurus plus the historic port town of Nafplio. The fortified citadel of ancient Mycenae, the seat of the mythical and mighty King Agamemnon. An impressive and well-preserved site, the city of Mycenae gave its name to an entire civilization. The period of Greek history from about 1600 BC to about 1100 BC is called Mycenaean in reference to Mycenae.

Next Stop Nafplio. One of the most beautiful towns in the area of Argolis as well as one of the most romantic cities all over Greece, Nafplio was the first capital of the newly born Greek state between 1823 and 1834.

Lunch.

Continue to Epidaurus. The ancient theater of Epidaurus with its perfect acoustic is waiting for you to travel you back to the centuries. Later take the bus back to Athens.

DAY 3

Join this Athens private tour and learn all about Greek History. This tour brings together the historical & architectural highlights of Athens along with
some of the most adorable alleys of the city. We will start our tour with Acropolis. Through natural disasters, foreign invasions and periods of neglect, the Acropolis has proven it was built to last and serves as a symbol of esilience. The Parthenon is the famed white marble jewel that reigns over Athens. Said to have been built between 448 and 438 BCE, the temple was dedicated to worshipping Athena, the goddess of wisdom.

Then you will have the chance to visit the New Acropolis Museum one of the most important museums in the world. Then we will have free time at Plaka the oldest neighborhood in Athens which is definitely a top attraction for visitors. The best way to explore Plaka is to simply wander its lanes, chasing glimpses of the Acropolis between the neoclassical buildings, cafes and souvenir shops.

DAY 4

Athens – Heraklion & Knossos Palace

Drive to airport to take the flight to Heraklion.

By arrival check into your hotel. After some rest you will begin your journey of Knossos by meeting your guide at your hotel in Heraklion, who will take care of you throughout the day. Head straight to Knossos, where you will visit the ancient Minoan Palace, an important city in antiquity that supported continuous life from the Neolithic era to the 5th century. According to tradition, Knossos was the seat of the wise king Minos. Learn about the archeological site’s fascinating myths, including the famous labyrinth and the minotaur legend, and that of Daedalus and Icarus.

Later you will take your dinner at a local tavern at Heraklion old town.

DAY 5

Archaeological Museum & Venetian Harbor

Archaeological Museum & Venetian Harbor

Take the bus to Heraklion Archaeological Museum. This museum is essential for understanding Minoan civilization and houses artifacts from Knossos and other sites.

Have lunch and in the afternoon and visit the Venetian Harbor. Walk along the impressive Venetian walls and visit the Koules Fortress, which guards the harbor.

Dinner at a seaside taverna. Fresh seafood is a must-try in Crete.

DAY 6

Heraklion free day

Have breakfast.

Today enjoy a free day at the town of Heraklion.

Later you will enjoy a folklore show with Cretan music and dance and of course traditional food.

DAY 7
DEPARTURE

Heraklion free day

Breakfast at the hotel. Check out.

Guided transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
